When the standard VW folding bed isn’t needed and is removed from the vehicle, this custom-fit protective mat creates a sturdy, neat storage surface for luggage, camping gear, or other equipment.

The iXTEND PAD covers the rear deck’s storage shelves and protects their surfaces from dirt, moisture, and wear and tear. Thanks to its “Raven” design, the mat blends seamlessly into the interior of the VW T7 California and looks like a standard feature.

The version for the VW T7 California Beach Tour consists of two separate parts. This allows the smaller protective mat to remain on the so-called electronics cabinet while the large bed pad is removed. The sensitive cabinet area thus remains covered and protected even when additional cargo space is needed for bicycles, a large dog crate, or other bulky items.

Both parts are secured with a special Velcro fastener. The self-adhesive Velcro strips provided for this purpose are attached to the shelves. This ensures that the pad stays securely in place but can still be removed if necessary.

The design also took into account the existing straps for the VW folding bed. When they’re not in use, they can be neatly rolled up and secured with the built-in elastic loops. This keeps the straps from lying loose on the cargo area while still keeping them within easy reach at all times.
